Educational Background
Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya attended Methodist Girls’ High School in Yaba and Federal Government College in Jos for her secondary education. She proceeded to the University of Lagos, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1987, before returning to the same institution to study law, earning her LLB and being called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002.

In 2007, she joined the Lagos State Government as Senior Special Assistant on Justice Sector Reform in the office of then Attorney-General Olasupo Shasore, under Governor Babatunde Fashola.
She remained in government service until 2015, rising to the position of General Counsel to the Governor of Lagos State, where she contributed to initiatives including the Lagos State Home Ownership Mortgage Scheme, public-private partnerships, arbitration legislation, and product liability and consumer protection reform.
She co-founded Africa Law Practice NG and Company in 2017, where she currently serves as Partner and Co-Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice, one of Nigeria’s most respected commercial law firms with affiliations across the continent.

Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya was born in 1967, making her 59 years old. She is the first child of the late Professor Folabi Olumide, a renowned General Surgeon, and Folasade Olumide, a university administrator who became the first female Registrar of the University of Lagos, and whose late husband was the first Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University.
