In January 2022, Balogun joined Middlesbrough on loan for the second half of the 2021–22 season. He made 21 appearances across competitions, scoring once. His time in the Championship provided valuable experience in senior English football.

Balogun’s breakthrough came during his 2022–23 loan spell at Stade de Reims in France. He scored 21 goals in Ligue 1, finishing as the league’s fourth-highest scorer, and recorded 22 goals and six assists in 39 appearances across competitions according to Monaco’s official profile. His performances established him as one of Europe’s most promising young strikers. Among his memorable performances was a hat-trick against Lorient after Reims had fallen 2–0 behind. On 30 August 2023, Balogun completed a permanent transfer from Arsenal to AS Monaco, signing a five-year contract running until June 2028.
